Settle an argument...

If a TV show was first broadcast in 2000 and last broadcast in 2010, how many years has it been on TV?

10 or 11?

decades like century's end with a year ending in a 0 not begin with one, so 2000 was the last year of the 20th century not the beginning of the 21st, 2010 is the last year of the decade, a decade being 10 years, 2000 is a not member of this decade it is the end of the previous one, so 10 + 1 = 11 :p

I think its 11 years:

2000 - Series 1
2001 - Series 2
2002 - Series 3
2003 - Series 4
2004 - Series 5
2005 - Series 6
2006 - Series 7
2007 - Series 8
2008 - Series 9
2009 - Series 10
2010 - Series 11

My mate reckons its 10 years. The show in question is Big Brother.
