Ok Guys.

A little bit of help please.... :?

My PC keeps restarting after flashing a blue screen..... :x

The only thing I can see before this is CMOS Wrong........... :?

Any Ideas............ :D

Aah, BSOD, difficult to diagnose without seeing, but usually a hardware prob but not always what it says. If you've access to spares try swapping bits out starting with the ram. Do you overclock? if so turn back to default settings

Yeah I did overclock and my temps were quiet high 40+c somtimes up to 60c

Maybe I've damaged somthing...? I dont know!

cpu @ 60 shouldn't be bad but MB @ 60 might be, also if you've OC'd the RAM that could be damaged

As it boots, before the CMOS msg, can you enter the bios settings screen?
If you can, load the defaults and save and see what it does.

If you cant, an option similar to what Sky suggests; you need to stripe it down to the minimum the mobo can boot with to start diagnosing.
This is typically NO drives connected, just a CPU, GPU and the minimum ram the board will boot with (hopefully just one stick)
If it boots to BIOS like that, start adding your stuff back in and see where it craps out...

*Note: If OC'ing is a potential cause, as soon as you get access to the BIOS put it back to stock settings.

If you get as far as windows : - Control panel, System, Advanced, Startup and Recovery - settings. Set them like:-

that should let you see the fault before you get a reboot, and if not there will be info in the system log

EDIT: That pic is just plain wierd as I DEFINITELY do not have "send an administrative alert" checked and never have :shock:

If you don't get as far as os boot then reset the bios to default with the jumper if it's a desktop pc and start from there. (and tell us the Motherboard make as some companies have auto bios updates etc)

Cheers Guys.

My motherboard is the asus PK5 Pemium.
Managed to get into bios ok and everything seems fine (reset to default setting) the only thing i can think off
is one of my memory sticks is damaged.
if that fails I will take the cmos battery out and reset the bios that way......I think..... :?
Im a bit busy today so I will work on it tomorrow and I will try all the above mentioned.

because depending on the last piece of software put on .it can cause confliction and thus bsod ensue,s .same goes for adding hardware wereby icq gets confused

microsoft even made their own bsod in the sp1 service pack or was it sp2

my cheap n nasty blue tooth used to crap the system out on uninstalling sonys duff software and using a third party one the system no longer bsods blah blah blahdy blah blah blah :popcorn:

now get back to mowing those sheep :pointy:
