RAGE (09-2011)

A place to discuss upcoming new games, we'll let you talk about Call of Duty but you will run the risk of being ridiculed or banned if you sound like a fan boy!

problem with the game is it auto-detect the best settings according to your hardware specs, but wont let you edit them.

gfx driver updates on the way.

You can find some tweaks to smooth things out here. Apparently you can change some gfx settings via the konsole (v-sync, anisotropic filtering etc.). Also the texture streaming seems to be dependent on hdd read speed... (I'm getting a crazy amount of texture popping running of an not-so-fast sata disc) well ID really has no excuse as to why they've fooked up this so bad! So tired of PC gamers getting the short end of the stick... not that I like stick but you know....

just installing now so don't know how it'll run yet, but I reached the conclusion a couple of years back that if it has "Games For Windows" on the packet it was made for X-box :bad:

P.S. the fact that there's more in the manual about how to use an x-box controller than anything else is also not a sign of great things to come :D

Yeah I think the over arcing theme is 'meet the deadline - patch it up later'. Either the press only saw the console version or they where imbarged not to speak of technical shortcommings... at least I can play the game unlike COD BO wich was unplayable for on a month on my setup.

I'm going to hold off buying it till these issues are sorted.
The best defence against software piracy is producing a game worth buying.

they get a diffrent build not a retail build .also some bloke making damn sure it works for them with a orange sweater on .also some lie saying they played pc when infact they may have played xbox etc but to keep getting first reviews theyll bend the truth a little to keep getting exclusives .ask ice about his fc2 xbox experience the traiter lol.u,ll see retail used later on. when and if it becomes a benchmark tool in card reviews

crysis benchmark tool was used for card review early on as the game had a tendancy not to report true fps some cards registering low fps yet the review stating the game ran fine
same goes for the fiasco of 3d 06 benchie favoring nvidia cards .the list goes on for bullshit they come out with to sell us somthing new or try to be hip dx10 being the prime example of fail
