if you want to install 1.4, don't you have to install all the previous patches too?

yes 1.3 1.31 1.33 1.4
in that order or you could try and find the accumalitive patch (think thats what it was called lol)

Ok i installed all the patches, started up farcry, but all i get is a black screen
HELP?

Where do you get the black screen?

:: After the intro-logo animations?
:: When trying to play the game (after the ingame menu)?

with this problem its called crysystem.dll loading failure
now i was thinking should i uninstall and reinstall the game but im not really sure

marm go back to the first page of thread. read thru cliveys install,i think you havent told it were your farcry.exe is and that may be your problem. ill get back to you when i do a reinstall later
