i hate to say it, but this game actually looks fun and good, based ont he what? 1 min of footage we saw...

i never did get the chance to experience mw 2 multiplayer because of the countless amounts of things that f*cked it over, but i really did want to though, now this seems like a chance to actually enjoy a forthcomin cod title

ps why are the footage vids always on consoles? :S

like the Battlefield series then? and Crysis come to think it :p

It's only Treyarch's 2nd attempt at a COD and they don't use Infinate Retards engine
so hopefully they'll make a better job of this one, they certainly can't do worse than MW2

I can appreciate that sky, but you're basically going to be paying full retail price for a MP DLC pack. The engine may be different, but what does it bring? ...certainly no destructive environments so its the same old 100mph over the top consolised arcade run n gun tripe. They may as well release a new dlc for cod4.

Atleast bad company improved on the BC series with destructive environments. Its not a perfect game, it has its problems, but there is a noticeable difference between bc2 and its predecessors.

I thought this one was gonna be with dedi servers? so if that is the case, no DLC mappacks needed right?

Dedicated servers doesnt necessarily mean MOD support...unless they've publicly stated it will support community mods and are going to release an SDK for it.

Big multiplayer reveal event last night.

Looks like they're going a different direction with currency to buy weapons, tags and such, gambling :uwhat: and different game modes (cod4 gun game mod).

A shame there are no plans for a beta (yet).

Roundup:

- Can play with bots
- Combat Training: sort of like multiplayer training
- Combat training has a progression system (not the same one as online)
- Combat Training designed for those who don’t play online
- When creating a class, can see your character on the menu
- New weapons in Care Packages
- These weapons include the Death Machine and Grim Reaper
- Death Machine is a mini gun
- Grim Reaper is a grenade launcher
- Killstreak rewards include Napalm Strike, Gunship, Mortar Team, the Radio Controller Car, SAM Turret
- SAM Turret can take down a chopper
- Currency: Earn money (CP)
- Buy contracts with CP
- Contracts are limited challenges
- Mercenaries, Operations, Specialist categories for challenges
- Particular gameplay and achievements for the challenges
- Better reward for a more difficult contract
- Wager Match: gambling, bet points during a match
- Top three players earn points from the pot
- Four new modes for Wager Match
- Sticks and Stones: Crossbow and throwing knife available
- Gun Game: Have a pistal, obtain more weapons with more kills
- Sharpshooter: Every player has the same weapon, unlock perks per kill
- Customization: Player emblem, red dot, color pattern, different gun colors with decals, targeting reticule
- Emblem editor (includes images, layers, background)
- Theater Mode: Choose a player’s perspective (first or third-person)
- Can remove the camera in theater mode and move it around freely
- Tag, edit, search videos in the theater
