Hi boys, don't know how many would be interested in this but here goes...

If you like combat flight sims and particuly IL-2 by oleg maddox he has just released a sequel called IL-2: Cliffs of Dover, this is just Battle of Britain era planes over Britain, France and Belgium with enhanced graphics and flight (vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw3dlLYft0g).

If you don't fancy whacking out all your sponds on this just yet, the original IL-2 is still going strong and is a blast. You need IL-2 1946 which you can pick up on Amazon for less than a tenner plus patches 4.08/4.09/4.10/4.10 11 from here:

This gives you Oleg Maddox’s world famous IL-2 Sturmovik series of flight simulators. The latest offering, IL-2 1946, adds 36 new planes, 4 new gigantic maps, over 100 new ground objects, and nearly 200 new campaign missions.

This new opus also includes all of the previous IL-2 series content. What years ago began as a one-aircraft study sim is now an astonishing anthology, with a whopping 229 flyable aircraft and over 300 aircraft total!

if you download hyperlobby which shows and lets you join all the servers too, we can play together in co-op. You can fly against each other or on the same side as wingmen and also in the same aircraft as crew!!

It would be good fun to fly a mission with you guys!! It works on Windowx XP/7 as well although there are the normal issues of redirecting the download to the right program file. It's old and the protection possibly isnt supported now so you will get some cheaters (what game doesn't) but it's still fun.

this is impossible jezzer.

I bought a new joystick, cyborg....it works in bc2 now too....oooooooo......but yeah to the point! I got il2 1946....impressed even tho it looks old....

After my first few disastrous attempts at taking off, and not understanding.....I checked the difficulty level and realised i wasnt good enough...so watched the videos    I can now take off 7 times out of 10...progress :P

Soo, i moved on to flying. Now, the objectives and bearings they give me, dont match up and make sense? I need help here...it says vector 300.....so i line up the degrees thing with 300 and i go away from my squadron, and it tells me im going the wrong way? Now, what is this nonsense? I do not understand....were the ww2 people silly?

I've shot down some planes easily in easy mode.....but shot one down in normal.......im having major difficulty turning though...i keep going into downard spirals, stalling then its bye bye welshy!!

Oh, and landing.....yeahh.....thats what the bail buttons for right?

If your doing a sharp turn welshy, use the handbreak.
The best defence against software piracy is producing a game worth buying.
