To all those who are currently running Windows 7, have you had any problem running any older games?

Hopefully all my bits will arrive this week so I can build my new PC. Im wondering if I'll be OK using Windows 7 Pro for gaming (does have compatibility mode) or if I should use a dual-boot setup for my gaming (XP/Win7).

Anyone had any issues?

I have windows 7 Ultimate and things run fine only small issue i had was installing FC1 but i think that was a 64bit issue.

I have not used the compatibility mode for anything. overall it takes the piss out of Vista for gaming.

To install FC1 and some other older games right click the install file and select "Run As Administrator" and then they install fine. Any game that uses Starforce protection you will need a no cd crack and the Starforce removal tool from their website as they still haven't released a 64bit driver (they've only had 3 years) Some even older (DX6, DX7 & DX8) games run better on W7 than on XP.

With mine it wasnt all fine sky. I had to set my game lighting to "medium" in order for me to play, after trying everything....

Apart from installing FC1, your memory seems to be failing, must be old age
